As previewed in June, Google now lets you share Gemini Gems with other users.
On the web, go to the “Explore Gems” page in the side panel: gemini.google.com/gems/view. Items in the “My Gems” list now have a share button next to the edit pencil icon. (This is not available on mobile.)
Sharing is handled via the existing Google Drive system. As such, you can enter an email address or get a link: gemini.google.com/gem/abcxyz123?usp=sharing.
For the other person, that opens the chat page immediately, with a “This Gem is shared. Instructions may change” message above the prompt box. After you enter a prompt, it will be saved to the Gem manager with a new “Shared with me” section. The overflow menu lets you “Make a copy” and see/make changes to the instructions.

After sharing, a new “Gemini Gems” folder will appear in Google Drive. The company explains how “Gems are protected by Drive permissions, and changes will be visible across Gemini and Drive.” These files feature the Gemini icon, with a tap opening gemini.google.com.
This has been a highly-requested feature, with Google previously talking about this capability in the context of education. We’re seeing it available for personal and Workspace accounts today.
