Farmfoods issues 'do not eat' warning over product which poses 'health risk'

Farmfoods has issued an urgent ‘do not eat’ warning over a product which could pose a “possible health risk” to some some shoppers. The store is now recalling the product and advising any shoppers who have bought the item to return it to their nearest store, with or without a receipt. The supermarket is recalling its Chicken & Spinach Pasta as some may packs may contain crustaceans, fish and molluscs which have not been declared on the product’s label. As these ingredients have not been declared, the product could be pose a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to crustaceans, fish and molluscs. Farmfoods is therefore advising anyone with an allergy to these ingredients to not eat the product and instead return it to their nearest store for a full refund. Never miss a story with the MEN’s daily Catch Up newsletter – get it in your inbox by signing up here The recall applies to all 350g packets of Farmfood’s Chicken & Spinach Pasta with a best before date of January 2027 and batch codes of L5192B05D, L5192C05D, L5193C05D, L5193A05D or L5193B05D. Issuing a product recall notice, Farmfoods wrote: “If you have this product and have any type of seafood allergy or intolerance, please DO NOT consume the product. Please return the affected product to the store where the product was purchased for a full refund. No receipt is required. “We taken consumer safety very seriously and sincerely apologise to our loyal customers for this situation and any inconvenience it may have caused.” They added: “The best before date and batch code is shown on the bottom right corner of the back of the pack.” Farmfoods has also issued a point-of-sale notice to customers informing them of the recall and has been advised to also contact relevant allergy support organisations. The Food Standards Agency also issued an alert to consumers of the recall. They added: “If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to crustaceans, fish or molluscs do not eat it. “Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.
