Yatri Sewa Diwas 2025 Highlights Govt’s Commitment To Passenger-Centric Airport Services: Minister Naidu
New Delhi, Sep 18 (KNN) Minister of Civil Aviation Rammohan Naidu on Thursday inaugurated the nationwide observance of Yatri Sewa Diwas 2025 from Hindon Airport.
The initiative featured health awareness campaigns and free medical check-ups for passengers, with special programmes for women travellers under the Swastha Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan.
Speaking at the launch, the Civil Aviation Minister said the programme reflects the government’s focus on making air travel seamless and accessible while prioritising passenger welfare, underscoring its commitment to enhancing passenger-centric services across India’s airports.
He underlined the growth of the aviation sector over the past decade, noting that annual passenger numbers had more than doubled from 11 crore in 2014 to around 25 crore in 2025.
Hindon Airport, he added, had expanded from a single operational flight in 2020 to connections with 16 cities nationwide.
Naidu also announced plans to make all airports Wi-Fi enabled under the Digital India initiative, and reiterated the government’s emphasis on promoting local procurement in line with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.
Airports Authority of India (AAI) Chairman Vipin Kumar, who attended the event, praised the collective efforts of AAI staff in organising the celebrations.
He highlighted initiatives such as Digi Yatra, UDAN Yatri Cafes, and Flybrary as part of broader efforts to improve passenger convenience.
