Uttarakhand BJP MP Anil Baluni had a narrow escape from a massive landslide while he was on a visit to review the situation in the hilly state that is reeling under the havoc of torrential rain. Baluni also shared a video capturing the exact moment the landslide struck, showing a hillside collapsing as stones and debris tumbled down the mountain.
“The severe cloudburst and landslides in Uttarakhand this year have left such deep wounds that it will take a long time to heal them. Yesterday evening, I am sharing with you all a terrifying scene of a landslide in the disaster-affected area. This scene itself speaks volumes about the severe natural calamity that our Uttarakhand is going through at this time,” he wrote on X, sharing the video.
“From Baba Kedarnath, I pray for the safe life, good health, and prosperity of all people. In this hour of disaster, I appreciate the dedication of all the officials, NDRF-SDRF personnel, administration, and the workers clearing debris from the roads even in challenging circumstances,” he added.

Massive landslides, cloudbursts, and flash flood incidents have been reported from across several districts of Uttarakhand, raising concerns about the safety of people.
In the latest case, at least 10 people went missing after a cloudburst struck Chamoli district late Wednesday.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami informed about the incident from X and wrote, “Sad news has been received that the heavy rainfall in the Nandan Nagar Ghat area of Chamoli district has caused damage to nearby houses. Local administration, @uksdrf and police teams have reached the spot immediately and are engaged in relief and rescue operations.”
