Residents of Santa Clara County have a new resource for battling substance use disorders with the recent opening of an outpatient clinic in Gilroy. The County Behavioral Health Services Department, alongside Recover Medical Group, cut the tape on “Recover Gilroy,” an initiative geared to providing comprehensive addiction treatments. This opening aims to make a range of services for those battling substance-use issues increasingly accessible, as the Santa Clara County details.

The newly minted clinic is set to assess and coordinate care for individuals grappling with addiction thoroughly, provide both individual and group counseling, and offer family therapy. Furthermore, it is equipped to prescribe medications specifically for the treatment of opioid and alcohol addictions, laying a foundation of patient education, recovery support, and crisis intervention. Santa Clara County’s partnership with Recover Medical Group secures services for approximately 600–700 residents annually, particularly those on Medi-Cal, but it’s also available for those with commercial insurance, as reported by Santa Clara County News.

Local officials are heralding this development as a significant step for South County, with County District 1 Board Vice President Sylvia Arenas emphasizing the facility’s importance for community health and family support. Gilroy Mayor Greg Bozzo noted the significance of such a resource in the region, affirming that access to these treatments can save lives and bolster community strength. CEO of Recover Medical Group, Nick Gulino, echoed these sentiments, stressing the need for easy-to-reach, quality care to combat stigma and promote recovery, as per statements to Santa Clara County News.
