EA’s skate. provides plenty of opportunities to drop in from high places, but if you want to take full advantage of these opportunities, you’ll need to learn to skydive. Without the ability to properly skydive, you’ll end up wiping out from astronomical heights all the time.
By learning to skydive, you can start on the roofs of San Vansterdam’s tallest buildings and chain tricks together without landing face down on concrete. skate.’s earliest tutorials and missions don’t cover the subject as well as some others, but it’s not hard to do once you know how.
How To Set Up A Skydive
All You Need Is A Tall Enough Building
Unsurprisingly, you’ll need to be off your board to properly skydive. First, skate or climb up to a height tall enough to skydive from. ImpervaTOWERS in Market Mile is a nice, tall building that’s easy to climb. Once you’re there, set a Session Marker by holding up on the d-pad. This way, you can practice skydiving and simply press up whenever you want to return to the same point to jump again.
Once you have a respawn marker near a ledge, jump or run off without your board, or skate off and then grab your board out from under you. You can press the Y button on an Xbox controller or the â–³ button on PlayStation to get off your board whether you’re on the ground or in the air.

Two Simple Button Presses
When you’re falling, press R1 to start diving and press either A on Xbox or X on PlayStation to spread your arms outward. The order of inputs doesn’t matter, as long as you hold both of them.
With your arms outstretched, you’ll start slowing your fall, allowing you to skydive properly. You should see an indication that you’re doing a “Spread Eagle” in the bottom left where your tricks are displayed. If you want to try landing on your board when you’re about to hit the ground, just hop back on it and attempt the landing.
In addition to slowing your fall, skydiving will let you travel a greater distance in the air despite the lack of a parachute. Once you’ve mastered the technique, you can use it to access hard-to-reach areas of the map or simply traverse long distances at high speeds, making it easy to hit money-making missions along the way.
