LIMERICK city and county is gearing up to welcome thousands of culture seekers to over 70 free events this Friday to celebrate Culture Night 2025. From poetry to painting and music to murals, the programme showcases the diversity and creativity of Limerick’s cultural scene living up to the theme of the 20th edition of Culture Night, One Night for All. A celebration of live electronic Irish music with Sionna takes centre stage at King John’s Castle. Take a magical journey with the Madcap Chronicles of Wonderland at Limerick’s Hunt Museum, with other events taking place at Ormston House, Limerick Printmakers, and Spacecraft Studios. On-street entertainment includes the Boherbuoy Band on Thomas Street, and Henry Street Garda Station will open its doors to visitors curious about life behind the scenes – including a peek inside the cells. The Milk Market will open from 5–8pm with a petting farm, live music, and local craft and food stalls. The county towns will also be bustling with activity including a screening of Birdsong by Seán Roynane at the Desmond Complex, and music technology workshops for teens at Foróige, Newcastle West. In Abbeyfeale, live music will fill the air at Siopa Milséan thanks to Music Generation. Castleconnell presents a climate-conscious programme featuring an interactive mural launch, clothing swap, and local craft exhibition. Limerick Arts Officer, Etain McCooey, said: “Culture Night is a great occasion to celebrate the cultural, artistic and creative communities of our region… All events are free and open to all.”
