Samsung & Microsoft bring Copilot AI to 2025 TV & monitor range

Samsung has announced the integration of Microsoft Copilot into its 2025 range of TVs and Smart Monitors.

The integration sees Microsoft Copilot, an AI-powered assistant, available through compatible Samsung displays, allowing users to access Copilot via voice command or the remote control. This move is aimed at advancing Samsung’s AI-powered functionality intended to make it easier for users to discover information, interact with content, and complete everyday tasks directly from their screens.

Copilot integration

Microsoft Copilot’s conversational AI will be accessible not just on the device’s main operating system but also through Samsung Daily+, the company’s lifestyle hub that houses services across entertainment, wellness, and food. The integration promises to provide contextual and responsive AI capabilities by leveraging Samsung’s Vision AI platform.

Samsung said the goal is to provide more tailored experiences for users at home. “Through our open AI partnerships, Samsung is setting a new standard for AI-powered screens,” said Kevin Lee, Executive Vice President of the Customer Experience Team at the Visual Display Business of Samsung Electronics. “Copilot makes it fun and easy to quickly get what you need through tailored experiences, whether you’re learning something new, enjoying entertainment, tackling everyday tasks or more.”

Personalised recommendations

Copilot on Samsung’s Tizen OS and Samsung Daily+ brings conversational support to a range of scenarios, offering what the company describes as ‘personalised recommendations, relevant information and interactive learning experiences’. Whether a viewer wants more details about a programme or wishes to explore a subject in greater depth, Copilot will be able to respond through natural voice interaction.

“Copilot on Samsung TVs is designed to feel like an AI companion in your living room,” said David Washington, Partner General Manager, Microsoft AI. “Together with Samsung’s leadership in display technology, we’re bringing people a shared experience that helps them discover something to watch, ask questions, make plans, or simply enjoy a moment together, all on the biggest screen in their home.”

Display technology

Samsung, which has maintained a leading position in the global TV market for 19 consecutive years, states that its ongoing collaborations with AI partners are enabling users to get more from their home entertainment technologies. The integration with Copilot is positioned as part of a broader effort to improve smart home and entertainment experiences through artificial intelligence and cloud-based services.

The integration is designed with the aim of supporting a range of user needs, including learning, entertainment, and everyday planning, without the need for separate devices or secondary screens. Copilot will be available across compatible 2025 TVs and Smart Monitors, but details relating to specific model compatibility or regional availability have not yet been published.

Copilot’s conversational AI is intended to work in real-time, allowing viewers to receive instant responses and recommendations while interacting with content on screen. The integration with Samsung’s ecosystem also highlights the company’s approach to open collaboration with technology partners.

The partnership follows a trend in the consumer electronics sector towards deeper integration of artificial intelligence into household devices, reflecting growing consumer interest in smart-home functionalities and connected living environments.

Samsung has cited its global position and portfolio as advantages in rolling out such AI-powered capabilities, referencing 19 years as the global leader in TV market share. No financial details regarding the collaboration were disclosed.
