Samsung has unveiled its latest Sound Tower range, which will be released in Australia in 2026, incorporating new audio technologies and customisable lighting features.
The new range includes two models, the ST50F and the ST40F, designed to accommodate both indoor and outdoor use. The company describes these models as combining advanced acoustic technology and a versatile design intended to provide an immersive experience for large gatherings.
“The new Sound Tower sets a new standard in how consumers experience entertainment in both indoor and outdoor settings,” said Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “With customisable lighting effects and an upgraded form factor that produces fully encompassing sound, it underscores Samsung’s commitment to providing innovative audio solutions for the diverse lifestyles of customers.”
The Sound Tower models feature an upgraded acoustic structure, with dual dome tweeters and Samsung’s Waveguide technology used to distribute audio throughout a space. The dual woofers provide customisable bass, with users able to select from Deep, Punchy, or Gentle modes. In addition, four sound modes – Standard, Wide, Stadium, and Outdoor – allow further tailoring of the audio to the specific surroundings, such as open-air parties or indoor dance floors.
Battery life is a central feature of the new Sound Tower range, with long-lasting performance and a replaceable battery to minimise interruptions. For expanded sound coverage, users can connect several compatible Sound Towers via Auracast Group Play or create stereo configurations with True Wireless Stereo connectivity.
Lighting features
Samsung’s Party Lights + system is incorporated into the new Sound Towers, offering various mood presets and dynamic lighting patterns. Users can control and customise lighting using a designated app, with real-time reaction to music beats and frequencies for synchronised effects. Lighting options include patterns such as Wave, Trail, Spark, Breeze, Flow, and Flare, enabling users to align visuals with different atmospheres.
The lighting system is arranged across five zones on each speaker, providing a 360-degree visual experience. These zones include:
The track light, forming a racetrack-style LED pattern around the woofers; ring lights at the tweeters for colour highlights; four perimeter line lights for a framing effect; crystal lights at the base for ambient lighting; and a handle light, which also provides illumination for the control panel and can support a tablet or smartphone for easier music and settings control.
Additional entertainment features such as DJ Booth and Karaoke modes are included, alongside a guitar input, to transform venues into interactive spaces for live performances.
Portability and performance
The portable design incorporates practical features for transport and mobility. The ST40F model includes a bottom grip slot and integrated handle, while the ST50F offers the addition of wheels and a telescopic handle to support effortless movement between locations. Each speaker is built with a geometric form factor and integrated lighting to serve users seeking party audio beyond typical static speaker setups.
The ST50F model is equipped with a 240-watt output, 6.5-inch dual woofers, 25mm dual dome tweeters, a telescopic handle, and transport wheels. The ST40F provides 160-watt output, 5.25-inch dual woofers, and 20mm dual dome tweeters, using a simpler integrated handle for portability. Both models are designed to offer an extended battery life to suit longer events.
The rollout of the new Sound Tower range will begin across various regions, with the Australian launch set for 2026.
