Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s daughter, Dr Caryn Agyemang Prempeh, popularly known as Ohemaa, grabbed the spotlight as she appeared at the Asantehemaa’s funeral.
The Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, died at 98 years of age on August 7, 2025.
She was the 14th Asantehemaa and the biological sister of the current Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and held the position for eight years before her death.
Her burial has been scheduled for Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Royal Mausoleum in Breman.
Ahead of her burial, Asante Royals and other dignitaries have descended on Manhyia Palace for her final funeral rites.

In a video seen by YEN.com.gh on the TikTok page of Vibez Central, Ohemaa could be seen in black and red mourning clothes and drenched in grief.
Despite her sadness, she was seen attempting to remain composed in line with her royal responsibilities.
The video of Caryn Prempeh mourning the Asantehamma has evoked sadness on social media, with many Ghanaians expressing their support for her.
