AN ART exhibition aimed at raising awareness of mental health troubles is to take place in Limerick city centre. From Culture Night, this Friday, September 19, to Sunday, October 5, Treaty City Brewery in Nicholas Street will play host to the annual ABC for Mental Health art exhibition. It’s taken place each year since 2014 to mark Green Ribbon Month, designed to tackle mental health stigma and discrimination. There is a charge of €15 to show a piece to cover associated costs, and the exhibition will be laid out from 3.15pm to 4.30pm on Thursday, September 18. It’s limited to 60 pieces of art so those interested in putting their work on display are encouraged to make contact early. The exhibitions feature the work of numerous local artists, celebrating creativity and fostering community discussion around mental well-being. Amanda said: “We believe art is a form of communication, even when we do not have the words. This exhibition is open to artists from all backgrounds – whether professional or not.”
