Passengers throng ‘selfie point’ at Tirupati airport

Passengers thronged the newly-opened ‘selfie point’ at Tirupati airport, which was inaugurated on Wednesday as part of ‘Yatri Sewa Diwas’ observed by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) in airports across the country. The day also marked the launch of new passenger-friendly initiatives.

The passengers were welcomed to the airport by applying a ‘tika’, while a free medical and health check-up camp was held, which was availed by 114 passengers. Similarly, 46 taxi and cab drivers underwent free eye check-ups.

Meanwhile, 48 units of blood was received from donors at the special camp held on the occasion. Students of Sri Venkateswara College of Music and Dance performed folk dance to entertain and accord a ceremonial reception to the passengers at the airport, while senior citizens were roped in to plant saplings at a special plantation drive.
