Reduce intake of sugar, salt and oil, CM exhorts people

Chief Minister Chandrababu has said the NDA government is giving high priority to public health. Participating in the Swast Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan in Vizag along with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Chandrababu Naidu said Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid special attention to the upliftment of the poor and the health of women.

Earlier, the programme was virtually launched by Modi. The Chief Minister exhorted the people to reduce the consumption of sugar, salt and oil for good health. The Central government launched the Swast Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan programme focusing on women’s health and every woman should make better use of it, he said.

“From today to October 2, we will conduct medical check-up camps for 15 days. We are holding 13,944 health camps across the State. We will create awareness about anemia and nutrition. We will conduct free medical tests for high blood pressure, sugar, oral cancer, breast cancer, cervical cancer, TB and other diseases during the programme. Gynecology, ENT, ophthalmology, dermatology, psychiatry, dental surgeons and pediatricians would provide medical services at the camps,” said the Chief Minister.

“The State government is spending Rs. 19,264 crore on the health sector this year,” he added.

The Chief Minister further said that while providing welfare to women on one hand, we are paying special attention to their health on the other.

Showering praises on the people of Vizag, the Chief Minister while participating in Swast Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan, said: “I will never forget the initiative and support they showed during the Hudhud disaster. Wherever I go, I say that Visakhapatnam is the best city. The city is the safest place for women in the country.”
