Longtime Pittsburgh Steelers reporter dies at 56

Longtime Pittsburgh Steelers beat reporter Dale Lolley has died at the age of 56, the team announced on Wednesday. Lolley passed away after an extend battle with cancer.
Lolley had been a contributing writer and editor for the Steelers’ team site for the last three years, but had been on the beat long before that.
Lolley has worked on the Steelers beat for the past 30 years. He graduated from Pitt-Johnstown in 1991 before becoming a sportswriter in Oil City, Pa., just outside of Pittsburgh.
He would then get hired by the Observer-News in Washington, Pa. to cover the Steelers. After that, Lolley became the Steelers beat reporter for DK Pittsburgh Sports, while also contributing to Steelers Digest and doing shows on the Steelers Radio Network starting in 2008.
“I’ve spent more than half of my life covering the team,” Lolley wrote in Steelers.com in 2022. “If I’m not writing about them, I’m talking about them. It’s what I do.”
Lolley hosted the Steelers Nation Radio Drive on the team’s digital radio network, with former NFL scout Matt Williamson, which became of the top podcasts talking about the Steelers.
Lolley spent much of his time outside of the Steelers by serving on the Washington Youth Baseball Council.
Lolley is survived by his wife and three kids.
