Texas Republican Representative Troy Nehls said Tuesday that slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk would have been Jesus “13th disciple” if he lived during biblical times.
Kirk, 31, a father of two, was credited with energizing young Republicans and aiding President Donald Trump’s 2024 return to the White House. His Arizona-based group, Turning Point USA, drew evangelical Christian youth into politics through social media, a popular podcast and campus events.
Nehls said during remarks during FBI Director Kash Patel’s hearing, “Charlie Kirk was a man of faith … first and foremost, he loved his lord Jesus, he loved his family. Beautiful wife, beautiful children. Just a remarkable honorable man that was silenced by this assassin’s bullet. I would say if Charlie Kirk lived in the biblical times, he would have been the 13th disciple.”
