Representatives of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC) and UNESCO in Haiti had an important working session with the Directorate General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) in order to plan the main activities of the Inter-University National Championship scheduled from September 21 to November 18, 2025 on the entire national territory.
About two months after the school sports games, Minister Octavius ​​looked at the organization of this championship during a working session held at the UNESCO office with representatives of national players and international partners.
Accompanied by the Director General, Me Nathan Laguerre, Madame Octavius ​​and the representatives of the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP), the United Nations for Science and Culture (UNESCO), several agencies of the United Nations System, the Haitian Olympic Committee (COH), the Haitian University Sports Federation (Fehsu) as well as other partners have already worked on diverse Aspects relating to this championship which will take place around the theme : “Sport at the service of development and peace”
Minister Octavius ​​welcomed the commitment of UNESCO and the bodies concerned interested in putting sport at the service of peace and development during sports games mobilizing young academics in football, basketball and chess without forgetting the Peace marathon scheduled for September 20, 2025 . Artistic activities and raising sessions of peace, citizenship and gender equality will be organized during the competition which must promote, among other things, inclusion and social cohesion.
The participants in the meeting made an inspection visit to Ste Thérèse Pétion-ville Park, one of the sites of the inter-university national championship which will make it possible to detect the talents to accompany for the 2028 Olympic Games.
Other technical meetings have been scheduled with the parties involved in order to ensure the full success of this sporting event.
