‘Paw Patrol’ Heads to CBS for First Time With Rubble Christmas Special

In a challenged broadcast-television ecosystem, just yelp for help.
A Paw Patrol Christmas, the first-ever hour-long Paw Patrol holiday special, is coming to town on Nov. 28 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and Paramount+. The special, featuring “a mix of original and classic holiday songs in a heartwarming story following construction-savvy pup Rubble,” will mark the first time Paw Patrol has ever been on CBS — let alone on CBS in primetime. So let those preschoolers stay up extra late on Black Friday this year.
Paw Patrol and its many variations air regularly on Nickelodeon and stream on Paramount+. The series has also birthed a small litter of theatrical films, one in 2021 and another in 2023. Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie is due out next year.
In A Paw Patrol Christmas, Rubble “is looking forward to Santa bringing him a new laser drill,” obviously, “but things take a turn when Santa comes down with a cold and can’t deliver any presents,” the logline reads. “When Mayor Humdinger decides he’s going to the North Pole to take all the gifts for himself, it’s up to the Paw Patrol to stop him.”
(Ugh; he would.)
We were previously aware that the Spin Master Entertainment franchise was slating hour-long Paw Patrol specials, one per pup, beginning in this fall. Rubble’s Christmas special is actually not the first: Tracker has that honor with Valiente: A Track Story, which premieres Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. ET/PT on Nickelodeon. The rest of the pups will see their individual specials rolling out on Nick in 2026, along with new season 12 episodes of Paw Patrol proper.
The holiday event is part of a previously announced slate of original hour-long Paw Patrol specials. The remaining specials will air on Nickelodeon in 2026, along with all new season 12 episodes.
