Police are looking for a man who they say robbed a popular Walt Disney World restaurant and then swam away using Scuba gear.
According to WFTV in Orlando, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department responded to Disney Springs after the suspect stole between $10,000 and $20,000 from the Paddlefish restaurant after it closed on Monday.
Disney Springs is a shopping, dining, and entertainment complex on the Walt Disney World property in Lake Buena Vista.
Paddlefish, a seafood restaurant housed in a “modern steamboat” situated in a pond, is one of the tourist area’s most popular restaurants.
Investigators say the man found a place to store his wet suit and scuba gear before walking into the manager’s office where cash from the night was being counted and deposited into a safe by two employees.
After leaving the steamboat, investigators believe the man donned his scuba gear and jumped back into the pond to leave the area.
He is described as a slim, 5-foot-10 male wearing tight clothing and a blue beanie. The restaurant opened as normal to guests at noon on Monday, according to the TV station.
