According to a new claim, the developers have been working on porting the RE Engine Resident Evil Games for Switch 2, including Requiem.
Most recently, we learned that Resident Evil Requiem will reportedly be brought to not only the Nintendo Switch 2, but also the PlayStation 4. The latest development indicates that porting over to the Switch 2 will not be limited to Requiem, but will also encompass all other Resident Evil titles that feature the RE Engine.
Resident Evil Requiem, RE2, RE3, RE4, Village and RE7 Are Reportedly Coming to Switch 2
The latest information about Resident Evil Requiem and other RE Engine games coming for the Switch 2 comes from Dusk Golem on X (formerly Twitter). Their recent post states that the developers have been working on porting these games for the Switch 2 “for a hot minute now”. They have heard several times that games using the RE Engine, including Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil Village, and Resident Evil Requiem, will release for the Switch 2 “sooner or later”.
The insider adds that these RE games will receive native ports running on Nintendo’s latest hardware. It won’t be streaming versions like the ones we saw for the original Switch. Dusk Golem has also heard through the grapevine that there’s a Nintendo Direct scheduled for this week, and RE7 could be featured at the event. However, they clarified that it is a grapevine rumour and they “don’t have good insight into Capcom’s marketing plans.” As always, this information doesn’t come from an official source, so take it with a grain of salt.
In other news, a recent claim has stated that Resident Evil 5 Remake is not in development. Additionally, the Resident Evil Movie’s tone will be more in line with RE4.
