A “birthday book” filled with tributes to Jeffrey Epstein on his 50th birthday has been released by the House Oversight Committee, offering a disturbing look at how friends once celebrated his predatory behaviour. The 238-page compilation, put together in 2003 by Epstein’s then-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, includes childhood photos, school report cards and letters from family. But much of it quickly turns dark, with crude notes, sexual references and images portraying Epstein’s treatment of women as a source of humor among his circle, The New York Times reported. One contributor wrote, “So many girls, so little time.” Another compared Epstein to the fisherman in Ernest Hemingway’s The Old Man and the Sea, except “instead of fish, Jeffrey Epstein caught women, blonde, red or brunette.” The book also contains drawings of nude women, photos of scantily clad women, and even a check jokingly “selling a fully depreciated” woman to Donald Trump for $22,500, next to a poem signed with Trump’s name. White House officials have denied Trump created the image of a naked woman, according to the report. Other names attached to contributions include former President Bill Clinton, retail billionaire Leslie Wexner, investor Leon Black, attorney Alan Dershowitz and French modeling scout Jean-Luc Brunel, who died by suicide in 2022 while facing rape charges. Some women who wrote tributes appear to have also been Epstein’s assistants or girlfriends, with names redacted. One wrote, “With you, dear Jeffrey, I laugh like a little girl and feel like a woman.” Epstein pleaded guilty in Florida in 2008 to soliciting prostitution from a teenage girl and registered as a sex offender. He was arrested again in 2019 on federal sex-trafficking charges and died in jail. Maxwell is serving a 20-year prison sentence for conspiring to traffic minors. The book closes with a photo of Epstein on his private island and a note from Maxwell, reading, “The next fifty years will be even more wonderful.” Get Latest News Live on Times Now along with Breaking News and Top Headlines from US News and around the World.
