The Eastern South Regional Police Command has taken into custody a man identified as Alhaji Abdul Wahab after a video circulated online showing him allegedly issuing death threats against the Minority Leader of Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, and two other individuals.
Police confirmed in a statement on Monday, September 15, that Wahab was arrested in Koforidua, cautioned, and later released on bail.
He has been directed to report to the Regional Police Headquarters in Kyebi on the same day to support ongoing investigations.
The release, signed by DSP David Fianko-Okyere of the Public Affairs Unit, assured the public that the matter will be handled with fairness and transparency, adding that updates will be provided as the inquiry continues.
