Vastint România is the first real estate developer to join the efforts of the Ivan Patzaichin – Mila 23 Association and the Nod Makerspace cultural and creative hub to revitalize and transform the Dâmbovița River, its banks, and the surrounding areas.
As part of the upcoming Dâmbovița Delivery 2025, taking place on September 20–21 at the Debarcader Operă on the Dâmbovița River, Vastint România and the Ivan Patzaichin – Mila 23 Association will host a 10+1 canoe race, continuing the tradition of the renowned Descoperă Rowmania campaign. This joint initiative highlights Vastint’s commitment to supporting projects with a meaningful impact on the community and the city’s urban transformation.
“We are proud to be the first company in the industry to support the urban regeneration initiatives of the Dâmbovița River and its banks, especially considering that Timpuri Noi Square, our flagship office project, is located in the immediate vicinity. We promote sustainability and respect for the city, and our buildings are designed responsibly from the very stages of planning and construction. Our strategy is to get involved in projects that have a real impact on the community — whether we are talking about urban transformation or strengthening social cohesion, and when these also include a sports component, all the better. Our involvement goes beyond the limits of our developed projects: we support the community and our partners through various initiatives, such as annual blood donation campaigns or football championships, and interest in these actions is growing. We want such partnerships to continue in the long term.”, said Antoniu Panait, Managing Director of Vastint România.
Descoperă Rowmania / România naturală văzută din barcă is a national campaign aimed at promoting the country’s natural heritage by encouraging outdoor activities. The campaign’s goal is to reconnect people with nature, using the canotca (traditional canoe) as a tool and rowing as the main activity. Initiated by the Asociația Ivan Patzaichin – Mila 23 in partnership with the Administrația Națională Apele Române, the project has been running for 12 years and includes a strong educational and awareness-raising component about the importance of using natural resources efficiently and responsibly.
“The Descoperă Rowmania competition brings people together around water and shows how a river — often perceived as a line that divides a city — can become a space that unites. The Dâmbovița River is transformed into a place for connecting with urban nature, for physical activity, and for bringing communities together. Through the Dâmbovița Apă Dulce program and the Dâmbovița Delivery festival, we aim to make the river part of the city’s everyday life — a place that inspires, connects, and brings benefits to those who use it,” said Teodor Frolu, Vice President of Asociația Ivan Patzaichin – Mila 23.
Dâmbovița Delivery is part of the wider Dâmbovița Apă Dulce (DAD) program — a collective urban and ecological regeneration initiative created by the Asociația Ivan Patzaichin – Mila 23 and Nod Makerspace. The program envisions reimagining the Dâmbovița River as a green-blue axis for Bucharest, through water access infrastructure, river health monitoring systems, community activities, and advocacy actions.
