Olympic boxing champion Katie Taylor headed down to Wicklow this month to visit the Tigin Men’s Centre in Ashford, County Wicklow.

Tigin is a residential rehabilitation centre that offers comprehensive and holistic services for men to recover from life-controlling issues.

Standing with Senator Aubrey McCarthy, founder of the organisation, eagle-eyed fans noticed another man standing with the star that other people had never seen before… her husband.

Speaking to those in attendance, she delved into her experiences in the sporting world and becoming the undisputed women’s world champion.

The key message for those listening is that to gain success comes down to three things: perseverance, discipline and faith.

Senator Aubrey showed Katie and her husband around the premises and spoke about the continuous work they do at the centre on a day-to-day basis, writing: ‘[We were] humbled to welcome the undisputed world champion, Katie Taylor, and her husband and family to Tiglin. Her quiet strength and powerful message uplifted everyone in the room. Katie reminded us that recovery, like boxing, demands courage, discipline and heart.’

Katie, who is renowned for being very private about her life outside of boxing, has never spoken about her relationship- we don’t even know his name!

Speaking previously to The Athletic, Katie went as far as to call questions about her relationship status ‘annoying’.

When asked what FAQs she’s sick of answering, the Irishwoman said: ‘Probably the question about relationships. That’s another question people always ask, adding that while she understands fans’ intrigue, ‘it’s a bit annoying at times, but I’m just polite and get on with it’.

In July 2025, Katie sparked speculation that she had tied the knot when she was spotted sporting a wedding band on her finger, and later her dad confirmed that she is, in fact, a married woman.

It is believed that the couple wed last year and now live in Vernon, Connecticut. Katie also owns an apartment in her hometown of Bray.

The boxing star’s family made headlines in recent months when the Bray native reconciled with her father and former trainer Pete Taylor.

Katie had been estranged from her dad after it was discovered that he was having an affair.

It was only earlier this year that it was revealed, ahead of Taylor’s New York trilogy fight with Amanda Serrano, that Katie was training with him once again.
