A meeting between Prince William and Donald Trump saw the Prince of Wales give off a telling gesture that shows his stance . The 47th President of the United States touched down near Windsor Castle earlier today to meet with the Royal Family . Footage of President Trump , walking alongside First Lady Melania Trump, Princess Kate, and Prince William, has seen many suggest the Prince is transitioning into a bigger role within the Royal Family. His appearance outside of the Air Force One helicopter marks a massive shift within the Royal Family according to some, who believe it could be a sight of the “evolving role” Prince William must now play. Members of the public were pleased to see Prince William step forward to greet Donald Trump, before the US President took a stroll with the King. The symbolic gesture has cemented the royal’s position as an heir to the throne, with one commentator writing: “At Windsor today, Prince William greeted Donald Trump on the castle grounds. “It’s William’s evolving role on display: less ceremonial heir, more global statesman, stepping forward as King Charles’ wingman while Britain courts Washington. “For Trump, fresh off Air Force One and Marine One’s London flyover, the moment signals recognition from the future King – an image that plays well on both sides of the Atlantic. “Behind the pageantry, it’s hard politics: reinforcing the ‘special relationship’ in an uneasy geopolitical moment.” Further sightings of Trump in a royal carriage, backed by horses and a military display, suggested the so-called special relations at play. The commentator added: “Beyond the tiaras and trumpets, the moment underlines a message London and Washington both need seen – despite political turbulence, the ‘special relationship’ is still very much on parade.” Members of the public are split on the moment, with some suggesting there is “no rival” to the pageantry, while others considered the display a bit too “fancy”, even for the President of the United States. One person wrote: “A bit too fancy for me.” Another disagreed, adding: “British Royal pageantry has no rival.” And a third person shared: “Trump’s second state visit is as much about symbolism as it is about deals.”
