KENT COUNTY, MI – Kent County residents can get a free tree sapling to plant in their yard, while supplies last.
The Lower Grand River Organization of Watersheds (LGROW), in partnership with the Kent Conservation District, is giving away free tree saplings to residents on Oct. 11. All you have to do is fill out this survey to pre-order your saplings.
The free saplings are being offered through a Michigan Forests to Faucets grant, funded by the U.S. Forest Service and Michigan Department of Natural Resources, LGROW said.
“By planting trees on your property, you can help protect water quality, support wildlife, and enjoy the many benefits of a healthier environment,” the organization stated.
Everyone who orders a sapling must be able to pick them up on Oct. 11 at the Kent Conservation District, 3260 Eagle Park Dr. NE, Suite 111 in Grand Rapids.
LGROW is offering 1,000 saplings while supplies last. Residents can choose from two different variety bundles of tree saplings, LGROW said.
