‘70s rock icon’s wife says his recovery will be ‘tough and difficult’ after cardiac arrest

Cici Edmunds, the wife of rock icon Dave Edmunds, recently returned to social media to update his fans about how he is doing as he recovers after going into cardiac arrest earlier this year.
“Hello all you kindhearted people who have left so many encouraging posts of support and well wishes,” she wrote on Facebook. “Dave is doing ok. He has good days. Then some really difficult days. I’m aware the road to recovery is going to be tough and difficult in every way. And it will take a long time. But I wanted to let everyone know how much your posts have helped.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” she added.
Edmunds then provided an update on her health as well.
“I’ve had cyber knife treatments in the hope it will keep the tumors from getting worse (larger, spreading),” she wrote. “I’m still on home visit. But I’m hoping I’ll gain enough strength and wait to go through with the surgeries I so desperately need to have done. Dave is having tweaks on his devices and he seems to be faring better most days. Yeah. But then he goes back down. Patience and love. Thank you all again for your support and encouragement. Means the world to both myself and Dave.”
She announced just last month that Dave was being allowed to come home.
“Fantastic news about my beloved husband Dave Edmunds of 40 years,” she wrote. “He was allowed home on a home visit from hospital. After his long month stay after suffering a major cardiac arrest and horrifically dying in my arms. As you all kindhearted human souls know he was resurrected by a miracle and amazing medical team. Myself and my nurse.
“Amazing news everyone!” she added. “He did so well on the home visit he’s allowed to stay here at home if my nurses look after us both. Yeah! I can’t express my relief and my gratitude to all of you who have left such lovely posts of support and prayers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
She promised to continue to keep fans updated.
“It’s look positive,” she added. “He’s cracking jokes and walking short distances. Very short. But one has to start somewhere. He’s doing great! Hopefully he’ll be Rocking and Rolling in no time. Sending you all much love and light your way always.”
She first revealed the situation in early August.
“Thank you everyone who has so kindly left many lovely posts of support and have touched my heart with your love and support through this heartbreaking difficult time,” she wrote. “As I told you all my beloved husband Dave Edmunds of 40 plus years suffered a major cardiac arrest and passed away in my arms but was by a miracle saved by a fantastic medical team in the hospital who resurrected him and intubated him.”
