For quite a while, Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs was thought to be nearly invincible. It seemed that whenever he needed to, he would always find a way to move the chains and deliver his team a victory.But a major crack in the quarterback’s armor formed when the Chiefs got blown out in Super Bowl LIX by the Philadelphia Eagles in February. The two teams faced off again on Sunday, and once again, the Birds pecked Kansas City, this time in a three-point victory.That gave Philly quarterback Jalen Hurts three straight wins over Mahomes’ crew. The Eagles had previously lost in the Super Bowl to Kansas City to end the previous campaign.Burrow is the last quarterback to prevent Mahomes from getting to the big game. His Bengals downed Kansas City in the 2021 AFC Championship Game, and in Week 11 of that season, they also beat Kansas City before getting another win against Mahomes in Week 13 of 2022.As a whole, the Chiefs aren’t exactly the monsters they had been in previous seasons. They lost in Week 1 to the up-and-coming Los Angeles Chargers, and their defeat on Sunday gave them a 0-2 record for the first time since 2014, back when Mahomes was a freshman at Texas Tech University.The Chiefs’ running game is struggling. Mahomes has 123 rushing yards through two games, which is more than running backs Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt combined have mustered. Meanwhile, the two-time MVP has completed just 58.8% of his pass attempts through Week 2.They’re also short-handed right now on offense.
