Ghana Promises to Help Its Citizens Displaced Abroad

Ghana’s Foreign Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has repeated the government’s promise to protect and support Ghanaians living in other countries. This is especially for those recently displaced from a place called Gbenyiri.

Speaking at an event in Accra, the Minister said his ministry is determined to help all Ghanaians abroad. He stated that they are working hard with Ghanaian authorities and the governments of Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) and Burkina Faso to provide necessary help to the displaced citizens.

He gave a strong assurance: “No Ghanaian in distress, anywhere in the world, will be ignored by the Mahama administration.”

The Minister also thanked the governments and people of Côte d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso for their help and cooperation during this difficult time. He said this situation is a reminder for all African nations to be welcoming and supportive of each other’s citizens.
