Blue Jays' George Springer Sends Heartfelt Message Amid Resurgent Season

The Toronto Blue Jays have one of the best records in baseball, and George Springer’s resurgent season is fueling their run.Springer had the worst season of his career last season. He hit just .220 with an OPS below .700. However, this season, the four-time All-Star is back in form. He has 29 home runs and a .303 average in 127 games for the Blue Jays.Springer’s resurgence has been a pleasant sight for the Blue Jays as they look to make a deep run in October. Springer spoke on the team amid his revival.”I love these guys,” Springer said, per MLB.com’s Brent Maguire. “It makes it easy to do my job every day and not do too much,” Springer said. “We complement each other well. Everyone understands how each guy hits and each guy’s strengths. Nobody is just trying to be the guy every single day. We just want to have a good at-bat and get on to the next guy.”Springer is in his age-35 season. He has already won a World Series with the Houston Astros, but many view that win as one with an asterisk. Springer is in his fifth season with the Blue Jays. He has been an All-Star once with the team, but will look to make his mark in October.Springer is a two-time Silver Slugger with a .268/.346/.529 slash line in the postseason. He also has 19 postseason home runs in his career. If the Blue Jays do make a World Series run, Springer figures to be a huge reason why.More MLB: Yankees All-Star Sends Threat to Rest of MLB as Postseason Nears
