Warning for Renault drivers with five models sat on their driveway

Multiple models are beiung recalled due to a parking brake fault, drivers have been warned. Renault drivers are being told the parking brake sensor fault applies to Austral, Captur, Espace, Megane E-Tech, Rafale, Scenic E-Tech and Symbioz models. The impacted motors were all manufactured between April 2024 and January 2025 . The issue affects vehicles globally, although only 100 cars in the UK are thought to be impacted along with six Dacia Dusters. The problem lies in an incorrectly angled position sensor within the parking brake actuator, which can prevent the parking brake from engaging properly under certain conditions, such as when the engine is off, the driver’s seatbelt is released or the driver’s door is opened.
