The head of the Egyptian Paralympic Committee, Hossam al-Din Mostafa, announced that the World Para Powerlifting Championships will be held in Cairo from October 31 to November 9, 2025, with the participation of more than 700 male and female athletes.
Mostafa extended an invitation to all countries to participate in the championship, which will feature fierce competition among over 700 athletes from more than 90 countries.
The head of the Egyptian Paralympic Committee explained that this is the first time Egypt will host this championship.
This reflects the International Paralympic Committee’s confidence in Egypt’s ability to organize major international sporting events.
The committee has successfully organized five international championships in swimming and powerlifting during the international meetings hosted by Egypt.
The committee aims to hold the championship at the Egypt International Olympic Games City in the New Administrative Capital.
The Egyptian Paralympic Committee’s goal is to qualify the largest possible number of athletes in various sports and achieve the best results during their participation in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
