Short day in Parliament after King contracts Covid-19

Robert King, the Leader of the Opposition, tested positive on Friday for Covid-19 and had to leave the House of Assembly early after legislators resumed business following their summer break.

Mr King, MP for Smith’s North (Constituency 10), said he felt unwell during the morning parliamentary session and tested positive for the virus when he returned home.

He explained: “I shifted my meetings online and am at home with my wife, and will continue to take all necessary precautions as per the Bermuda government guidelines.

“Following government guidelines, I informed all close contacts immediately.”
