Kunihira haunts former paymasters Kampala Queens

Crested Cranes forward Margret Kunihira who currently plies her trade with Kenya Police Bullets put her former club, Kampala Queens, to the sword as the two teams faced off on Tuesday.

In the third-place playoff played at Moi International Sports Complex, Kasarani, Kunihira’s lone goal was the difference.

The winger scored directly from a free kick in the 25th minute, and this eventually turned out to be the decisive moment of the game.

Kunihira featured for Kampala Queens for one season (2022/23), helping the team to win the League title before moving to Tanzania.

She signed for Kenya Police Bullets before the start of the CAF Champions League CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers alongside countrywomen Zaina Namuleme and Desire Natooro Katisi.

In a show of respect, Kunihira had a muted celebration when her well-taken free kick beat goalkeeper Gloria Namakula.

It should be noted that the two teams were in the same group and Kenya Police Bullets also managed to win 1-0.

The final is between Rwanda’s Rayon Sport and JKT Queens from Tanzania where the winner will get the ticket to represent CECAFA at the final tournament in Morocco in November.
