Ireland to take on England in first T20 International three-match series

Ireland have played England twice inthe T20I format with both games taking place at the ICC T20 World Cup tournaments. The first game in 2010 was a No Result while the second game at the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Melbourne with Ireland winning by five runs (DLS).

Tickets for Wednesday’s match are selling fast while the matches on Friday and Sunday have already sold out. Tickets can be purchased on www.cricketireland.ie/tickets.

Where and when are the games?

All three games will take place at the Malahide Cricket Ground and will all start at 1.30pm. The first match will take place on Wednesday September 17, the second will take place on Friday September 19 and the final clash on Sunday September 21.

Where can I watch the series?

The games will be shown live on TNT Sports for viewers in Ireland and the UK. You can also listen to all the action live on BBC 5 Live Sports Extra and through the BBC Sport website. There will be updates across all Cricket Ireland’s social media channels and the scoreboard will be updated on www.cricketireland.ie.

Ben Calitz gets his first international call-up for Ireland. The 23-year-old was born in Vancouver, Canada and moved to Ireland in 2022. He represented Canada at U19 level and has played club cricket with Holywood CC, Muckamore CC and is currently with Lisburn CC.

Gareth Delany, Curtis Campher and Craig Young came through the Emerald Challenge Series and are available for selection. Mark Adair, Fionn Hand and Josh Little will miss the three-match series as they continue to work through their rehabiliation programmes.
