Someone added, “Rolling Stone has ranked “Haegeum” as #AgustD’s best solo song! Suga spits out at the beginning. The rapper isn’t referring to the mournful-sounding two-string traditional Korean instrument that is featured prominently in the song. He’s using haegeum’s other meaning.”

Suga’s Haegeum Was Released On April 21, 2023
The noir-themed music video, “Haegeum,” is the title track of BTS member Suga’s solo album, D-Day. The song’s title, “Haegeum,” means both a traditional Korean instrument and “lifting a ban”, which further explores the theme of freedom and duality, mirroring the song’s lyrics.
The music video was released on April 21, 2023, following a gritty, cinematic narrative with a dark, neo-noir feel. Here, Suga plays two characters – an enforcer figure known as the “Exister” alongside his more subdued alter ego, the “Being”. It begins with the Exister on a dangerous mission, culminating in a dramatic, “Oldboy-worthy” twist where he kills his other self.
Suga completed his mandatory military duty as a social service agent on June 21 and it marked the official end of all seven BTS members’ military enlistments.
