Varun Dhawan Reveals REAL Reason Why Karan Johar Has Decided Not To Attend Film Launches

The much-awaited trailer of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari has been released today. Starring Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, and Varun Dhawan in pivotal roles, the almost 3-minute-long trailer was launched at a special event today. Even though the film is produced by Dharma Productions, Karan Johar was absent from the launch.
Karan Johar frequently attends the trailer and album launches of his films. He is actively involved in the promotion of his film. As such, his absence from the Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari trailer launch event raised some eyebrows. However, Varun Dhawan revealed the real reason why Karan gave it a miss.
Varun said, “You have been seeing Karan Johar at events, weddings, and parties, so we decided to give him a break today. But the truth is that he has taken a decision that henceforth he won’t attend any of his film launches because he doesn’t want to get all the limelight. He feels that when he comes, poora media unke peeche pad jaata hai. But if he comes for any other film launch, then make it a controversy.”
Meanwhile, the film’s trailer reveals the basic plot of the film, which has Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor trying to get their exes, Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf, back in their lives. Meanwhile, Sanya and Rohit’s families have decided to get them married to each other.
The trailer opens with Sunny (Varun Dhawan), dressed as Baahubali, proposing to his girlfriend Ananya (played by Sanya), but she rejects his proposal, leaving Sunny’s world crashing down. Meanwhile, Tulsi (Janhvi Kapoor) is also heartbroken after her breakup with Vikram (Rohit Saraf). This leads to a hilarious trip where Sunny and Tulsi try to make their exes feel jealous by pretending they are in love.
The film’s trailer takes viewers through a world of dance, drama, colours, and romance. It gives a clear glimpse of the excitement and energy the film has in store. The film is directed by Shashank Khaitan, and the supporting cast includes Maniesh Paul, Akshay Oberoi, Abhinav Sharma, and others. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on October 2, 2025.
