SEVENTEEN's Hoshi, Woozi Begin Military Service; Bandmates, CARATS Give Them Emotional Send Off: Comeback Safe, Stronger

SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi has officially enlisted in the military on September, a day after his bandmate Woozi took off too. Seeing both of them enlisting has left fans already missing them. Amid flooding their beloved K-pop artists with wishes for a successful tenure, they also expressed sadness over how they will be missing the two singers for the next almost 2 years. Hoshi enlisted a day after Woozi (September 15) has left their fandom CARATS with a bitter-sweet feeling. A fan wrote on X (frmerly Twitter), “carats’ two captain, seventeen’s main producers, my hoshi woozi, take care on your duty and comeback safe & stronger, hope you keep healthy and happy always, hope you can find more good experience there and could take your time.” A second one said, “serve well and return safely, hoshi & woozi.” Fans post emotional messages Many posted videos of them at their military bases and from SEVENTEEN’s past performances to highlight their bond with the two members. Hoshi and Woozi have followed Jeonghan and Wonwoo, who are already serving their military duties. Xu Minghao aka The8 personally shaved off Hoshi’s head to give him a military cut and his videos have already been doing the rounds of the internet. “this is so sentimental oh my good lord,” a fan reacted. “hoshi officially begins his military today. I’m gonna miss him so bad ☹️ serve well and take good care of your health. see you in 545 days, hoshingie. we will wait for you,” another fan said. Hoshi’s message to fans The night before enlistment, Hoshi interacted with fans through a Weverse live. He said, “As you know, I’ll be enlisting tomorrow. I’ll serve well and return healthily,” he said, adding reassurance about Woozi, who entered the Nonsan Training Center on the same day. “Don’t worry about us. We’ll do well.” He revealed that since his schedule will overlap with the Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) holiday, his basic training will last seven weeks instead of the usual five. He even showed off his new shaved hairdo and shared, “I’ll come back after doing my best. Please stay healthy.” SEVENTEEN members send off Hoshi, Woozi All SEVENTEEN members went to see off Woozi and Hoshi at the same military site, and the moments became a memorable and emotional one. “I’m crying so all svt members went to the site to see Hoshi and Woozi off, and they even had a meal together before going in. Both Yeoncheon and Nonsan,” a fan expressed. Hoshi donates for school in Zambia Meanwhile, alongside enlisting, Hoshi also contributed to improving educational infrastructure for children and youth. On September 16, the Northern Gyeonggi branch of the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea revealed that he recently donated 100 million ($72,000 USD approx) to construct and renovate classrooms at Mansansa Public School in Ndola, Zambia.
