Palestinian Foreign Ministry Urges Global Action to Dismantle Israeli Iron Gates in West Bank

Ramallah, September 16 (QNA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for urgent global action to pressure the Israeli occupation forces into dismantling the iron gates they are increasingly installing at the perimeters of towns, villages, and tents in the West Bank.

These measures are of utmost concern and come as a precursor to imposing further settlement and colonial control on the West Bank, as part of the incremental declared and undeclared annexation, the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry considered these Israeli iron fencing, gates, and military high-rise facilities as an extension of colonization and random outposts, emphasizing that the move is taken with the intent of the occupied West Bank cantonization policy to divide the territory into disconnected cantons and convert the Palestinian high-rises into real closed prisons classified as off-limits, where entry and exit are prohibited unless permission is obtained from the Israeli occupation forces.

Recently, the Israeli occupation forces have finished the installation of iron gates at the entry of Al Eizariya town, with their number surging to as many as 1,000, which literally carve up the West Bank into cantons.

This move violates the territorial integrity of the occupied lands and the geography of the State of Palestine, and brazenly encroaches upon the rights of the Palestinians to commute freely to make a living and obtain health and educational services. (QNA)
