Teenager killed after falling from freeway overpass as drivers spin donuts at massive car exhibition

A 16-year-old boy has died after tragically falling from an overpass during an early morning illegal sideshow on the streets.

Jose Cuevas climbed over a concrete barrier about 3.30am on Saturday to get a better view of the Bay Area street takeover when he tragically plummeted 75 feet to his death.

The teenager had been watching the activities by the on and off ramps of the Carquinez Bridge when he lost his footing.

Jose was about six hours drive from his home in Harbor City at the time of his devastating death.

Chaos spilled onto the streets of the Bay Area on Saturday, with more than 100 cars blocking an intersection and performing donuts and illegal manouvres to the spectators who had gathered.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating Jose’s death, but said on Monday that it appears to have been accidental.

Local business owner Julia D’Alo told Fox 2 sideshows have been a recurring problem for years in the area.

‘We woke up to just lots and lots of sirens and honking horns… and there was news in the morning that there was a sideshow,’ she said.

‘This is something that the town is really, really concerned about.

‘I feel like we’re in the Wild Wild West here. Kids: it’s not worth it when you lose your life. Please get yourself involved in good things.
