Rochester Traffic Alert: Hwy 52 to East I-90 Closed Wednesday

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) – Access to eastbound I-90 from southbound Highway 52 in rural southeast Rochester will be shut down for much of the day tomorrow.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the closure is needed while construction crews remove equipment and paint the new eastbound I-90 bridge. A news release says the work is expected to keep southbound Highway 52 closed at the bridge from 6 AM through 6 PM, with the eastbound I-90 ramp closed and detoured.
Part of Ongoing I-90/Highway 52 Interchange Project
If the weather forces a postponement, the closures will be delayed until Thursday.
Detour Routes for Southbound Highway 52 Motorists
Southbound Highway 52 motorists will be detoured in Rochester onto Highway 63 south to I-90 near Stewartville. Motorists needing to travel to destinations farther south will be directed to exit eastbound I-90 at Eyota and take Olmsted County Road 7 until it intersects with Highway 52 north of Chatfield. The same detour route has been used for other traffic disruptions tied to the I-90/Highway 52 interchange project this year.
The work scheduled for tomorrow will not impact westbound I-90 traffic exiting to northbound Highway 52, and I-90 will remain open in both directions. Southbound traffic on Highway 52 will also still be able to access the westbound I-90 ramp.
