Made In Chelsea stars Sam Vanderpump and fiancée Alice Yaxley have revealed they’re expecting their first baby together, just months after getting engaged.
Sam, 28, shared the exciting news on Instagram with a touching photograph showing both their hands placed on a scan image surrounded by beautiful flowers. A second picture captured him tenderly kissing 24 year old Alice’s growing bump, as he gushed: “Life is full of surprises, but this is the best one yet. I can’t put into words how happy and excited we are!”
The pair were quickly congratulated by friends and fans. Former Made In Chelsea star Binky Felstead gushed: “Ahhhh congratulations guys! !”, while Reza Amiri-Garroussi added: “Congrats to both of you bro”.
One fan commented: “Wowwww, Congratulations, there’s no feeling like it xx”, whilst another gushed: “Omg! I’m so happy for you both. Xx”. A third supporter penned: “How wonderful! Congratulations”.
Their baby news comes after they stunned followers when they revealed their engagement in March, merely six months after beginning their romance. Shortly after Alice joined Channel 4’s Made In Chelsea, Sam revealed he was hunting for a ring and preparing to pop the question, reports the Mirror.
Sam, who is the nephew of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump, revealed that his proposal to Alice came after a serious health scare that saw him hospitalised with failing organs.
He said at the time: “Alice and I have only been dating for about six months, but we’ve gone through such a lot in such a short period of time. From day dot, Alice has been with me pretty much 24/7. And over Christmas we went through a bit of an episode together where I got really, really ill,” he says.
Detailing his sudden health decline, Sam explained, “I got an infection due to a genetic disease I’ve got, which led to sepsis and it ended up quite bad. I was in hospital and it was a close call, I could have died.”
He continued: “That experience brought us very, very close. I think I walked out of that looking at Alice and thinking, ‘This is the girl I want to marry.’ So, my thinking was, ‘If I’m saying that now, why on earth am I waiting?'”
As Made In Chelsea made its comeback on Monday 15 September, fans will no doubt be excited to watch their journey into parenthood play out.
