‘RHOSLC’ season 6 premiere recap: Girls trip from hell

'RHOSLC' season 6 premiere recap: Girls trip from hell

“The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” season 6 premiere was serving “Blair Witch Project” realness.
Angie Katsanevas surprised the group with a camping trip to Utah’s Provo Canyon, and the women were surprised to find that they’d be sleeping in an RV and cooking their own food over a campfire. Thanks to footage from camcorders that Britani Bateman gifted to everyone, the end of the episode was like something out of a cheesy horror movie. But the drama started the moment the ladies climbed aboard Angie’s RV.
Lisa Barlow’s absence from the trip was a topic of conversation right away. Whitney Rose voiced skepticism about Lisa’s work excuse, which rubbed Britani the wrong way.
“You’re one to talk. Your business is getting dragged like crazy right now on social media,” Britani told Whitney.
“You know nothing about my business. … How do you make money, s—ing d–k?” Whitney shock back, implying that Britani is with her on again, off again boyfriend Jared Osmond for money. (Later in the episode, Britani told the women that she and Jared got engaged and then called it off weeks later.)
The heated conversation came back around at the campfire that night, when Whitney explained why Britani’s comments about her business were so hurtful.
“I had a business that failed, that’s it,” Whitney said. “[My husband] Justin went all in with me, and now we have nothing. … I had to fire 30 employees, do you think that was fun? No. I failed at something I was really excited about that started as a massive success, Britani. … I made a bad choice and I’m cleaning up all the s—t from it. So, I don’t need my friends bringing the s—t on a girls trip and rubbing it in my face.”
Britani apologized for shading Whitney’s business without knowing the details and said she still wanted an apology from Whitney “for the d–k s—ing comment.“ The other women told Britani that it wasn’t cool to demand an apology as Whitney poured her heart out.
“Britani, we don’t want to hear it,” Meredith Marks chimed in.
Britani claimed that she and Meredith used to be good friends before Meredith “used me as a punching bag for your latent aggression” during season 5 of “RHOSLC.” Meredith then told Britani exactly how she feels about her.
“I don’t need a thing from you. I find you to be absolutely uninteresting. I have zero respect for you,” Meredith said.
Heather Gay later tried to lighten the mood with the legend of a Mormon ghost named Molly, who haunts Provo Canyon bringing “loose women” to justice. Before the spooky stories began, another “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” ghost haunted the episode: Jen Shah.
As the women discussed a lawsuit alleging that Lisa failed to pay back a $400,000 loan, Angie argued, “One might say it’s similar to what Jen Shah did.”

Heather and Meredith, who were once close friends with Jen, were appalled by Angie’s statement.
“What the f–k are you spewing from your mouth, Angie K?” Heather asked in disbelief.
“I don’t even understand Angie’s analogy. These are not criminal charges [Lisa is facing]; this is a civil lawsuit that has yet to go to trial, yet to have anything proved,” Meredith said in a confessional. “The state of Utah is not coming after Lisa Barlow, nor is the United States of America.”
Heather told cameras that the group “shouldn’t even be talking” about Jen, who is currently serving a prison sentence for a telemarketing scheme that targeted the elderly. Jen starred on “RHOSLC” from 2020 to 2022.
“We shouldn’t say her name. We shouldn’t unearth her spirit. She’s in prison where she belongs,” Heather said of Jen.
Lisa wasn’t present to hear Angie compare her to Jen, but it’s sure to get back to her later this season. First, the group has to survive the girls’ trip; the episode ended with camcorder footage of the ladies yelling in fear and unable to find Meredith in the darkness.
New episodes of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” premiere on Peacock and Bravo on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
