As the Aarogyasri network hospitals threatened to stop treating patients, the government said that payments under Aarogyasri have been expedited. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Health department said the Rajiv Aarogyasri Healthcare Trust had released monthly payouts averaging ₹95 crore in 2024–25. Aarogyasri CEO Uday Kumar appealed to hospitals to reconsider the strike, describing the scheme as the backbone of health security for nearly one crore BPL families in Telangana.
The suspension is expected to hit dialysis, intensive care and emergency services. Around 350 hospitals across the State will participate in the suspension of services.
The Telangana Aarogyasri Network Hospitals Association (TANHA) have threatened to suspend Aarogyasri services from midnight of September 16.
