Game of Thrones fans have a lot to look forward to in 2026 – as two of the series’ spin-off shows have had their release dates confirmed.
Fans have previously been left waiting years between new series due to filming delays and the sheer scale of the production, with its CGI dragons and epic battles.
But show makers HBO appear to have turned a new leaf.
The latest Game of Thrones spin-off, A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms, has been confirmed to be in post-production, with a release date set for January.
The series was originally supposed to air later this year, with some insiders suggesting reshooting of certain scenes pushed back the release.
It will be followed by the highly anticipated third season of House Of The Dragon, which has set its premiere date for June.

The spin-off show, which stars Matt Smith (pictured), Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke, will be joined in its release with new spin-off show A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
It marks the first time ever that two series set in the fictional city of Westeros will be released to viewers in the same year.
Fans celebrated the news on X, with one writing: ‘We have never been more back!’
Another added: ‘2026 is officially a Thrones Year’, while a third chimed in: ‘2026 is looking great for entertainment’.
Last year, it was revealed that Warner Bros looked to be beginning to lay the groundwork for ‘at least one film’ set in George R.R. Martin’s beloved fantasy world.
The Hollywood Reporter alleged that while the project is still in its infancy, lacking a director, cast, or script, the production company is enthusiastic about bringing the rich narratives of the Seven Kingdoms to the big screen.
Initially, showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss envisioned concluding the series with a theatrical trilogy instead of the 2019 finale.
Martin himself hinted at the possibility of a movie as far back as 2014.
As fans know, the world of Thrones has dipped its toes into the theatrical realm before, as HBO organised special screenings of pivotal episodes from the original series in select theatres.

Last April, Kit Harrington, known for his role as Jon Snow in Game of Thrones, disclosed that plans for a spin-off sequel focused on his character had been shelved.
There were hopes for series starring Kit, 37, as the title character was taken out of active development at HBO/MAX, according to Screen Rant.
In an interview with the outlet, the British actor confirmed the disappointing news about the sequel.
‘I hadn’t really ever spoken about it, because it was in development,’ he explained.
‘I didn’t want it leaked out that it was being developed, and I didn’t want the thing to happen where people kind of start theorizing, getting either excited about it or hating the idea of it, when it may never happen.
‘Because in development, you look at every angle, and you see whether it’s worth it, and currently, it’s not.’
