Consul General of France in Bengaluru Marc Lamy on Tuesday said that France was keen to have more educational tie ups with reputed institutions to benefit students of both countries.
He made the remarks during his visit to the Vizianagaram campus of Centurion University of Technology and Management on Tuesday.
Mr. Lamy observed the infrastructure and drone making technology at the university. He also inaugurated the GTM Lab, 3D printing, pharmacy laboratory, wellness center, data center, genome sequencing lab, breeding lab. He also interacted with the CUTM vice president D.N. Rao, the University Chancellor G. S. N. Raju and other academic heads of the institutions. He hailed CUTM’s partnership with French company Dassault Systems which developed a Future Nexus Lab in the campus at Vizianagaram.
Speaking to The Hindu on the sidelines of the meeting, Mr. Lamy said that as many as 15 French companies have invested in Andhra Pradesh and other States. He referred to the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce initiatives and cooperation between the governments of India and France and expressed hope that the investments would create more opportunities for skilled youth.
Dr. D. N. Rao said that CUTM had been giving utmost priority to skill and practical training programmes, enabling students to have multiple skills in accordance with the guidelines of the National Education Policy.
During his visit, Mr. Lamy toured the Smart Agriculture, Super Bee and Sky Rider factory initiatives of the University.
The University vice-chancellor P. K. Mohanty, Registrar P. Pallavi, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) head M. L. N. Acharyulu and others were present during his visit.
