A nurse who was caught sexually assaulting her 15 year-old stepson was described by the boy’s biological mother as an ‘incestuous pedophile’ as she was sentenced to two years in prison.

Alexis Von Yates, 34, was formally sentenced on Tuesday after she pleaded no contest last month to a charge of lewd and lascivious battery.

Wearing a full face of makeup with a demure high-neck black top, Von Yates appeared stony-faced as she refused to make any comment to the court.

She had accepted a plea deal after she was originally charged with sexual battery on a person between the ages of 12 to 18 years of age.

The charges stemmed from an incident last July where her husband Frank had walked in on Von Yates sexually assaulting his son, 15, court documents said.

In a statement to the court, the mother of the boy described what happened to her son as making her ‘ill’ and derided Von Yates as a ‘coward’.

As the boy’s mother spoke, Von Yates screwed up her face, especially when she claimed the sex offender had bragged about being handed a short sentence.

After being questioned briefly about her son, who she said is undergoing therapy, she claimed the boy’s father had spoken to him only once in the last year.

She said: ‘I will be by his side to support him, just as I always have. But it is not fair that I am the only one left to pick up the pieces of the mess Alexis created.

‘I am angry, I am hurt, at times it makes me physically ill. But I, like [my son] will rise above.

‘Despite all of the trauma inflicted upon him, he still has a beautiful life to look forward to. A life full of love, hope and endless possibilities.’

She added: ‘As for you Alexis, you have shown absolutely no remorse or accountability for your despicable actions.’

The mother then made her claim that Von Yates had actively bragged about her light two year sentence.

She continued: ‘But there is something you will never escape, the deep well emptiness inside of you. The lack of compassion, or love, or care.

‘You systemically manipulated, groomed, and sexually abused a child. Through your actions, and through your conduct since you have proven to be a coward.

‘There is nowhere you can go to escape the truth. For the rest of your life the world will see you for exactly what you are.

‘An incestuous pedophile who will forever only be remembered for what she took from a child.’

The youngster also spoke directly to the court however the audio of that was withheld due to an order made by the judge. Von Yates kept her eyes to the ground as he did.

After being asked if she wished to make any statements to the court, Von Yates replied: ‘No comment.’

She was then seen being led away to be fingerprinted and was seen being placed in cuffs.

Von Yates will see her spend two years in prison, followed by two years of community control and ten years of sex offender probation.

Von Yates will also have to complete 200 hours of community service, cover court costs and pay fines.

The former health care professional was arrested and charged in November of last year following the incident last July.

The child spoke with investigators last August, saying he had been in Florida on vacation to visit his father over the summer.

The teen described in graphic detail how he had sex with Von Yates after they spent time vaping cannabis oil and playing video games before watching a movie together.

Von Yates started telling the teenager ‘how horny’ she was after not having sex for two weeks because she had been on her period.

He told investigators Von Yates had made jokes about her sexual appetite the whole week before they had sex.

He described in detail how he started kissing her neck, with Yates saying: ‘I wish you were 18, because you’re not old enough.’

Von Yates then kicked off her underwear before engaging in oral sex and intercourse without the use of a condom, the teen said.

According to the affidavit, Von Yates would occasionally say ‘oh f***’ and ‘this is so bad’ during the tryst.

The document also describes how they ‘heard something in the garage’ but ‘kept going’ before the boy’s father walked in after returning from working a late shift.

When his father walked in, the teenager told investigators he ran to the bathroom with his pants around his ankles.

He is then said to have begun throwing objects, before branding Von Yates a ‘c***’ and a ‘child predator.’

The boy said when questioned by his father he refused to tell him what had happened, and Von Yates told her husband she had asked the boy to stop.

According to the affidavit, the boy insisted that wasn’t true and feared his father was going to beat him with a belt.

Von Yates is also said to have told the boy’s father she had sex with him because he looked like his dad when he was younger, the boy claimed.

She also claimed her victim’s penis looked like a more youthful version of her husband’s.

The boy said she had made references to the size of his penis, and rated his sexual performance as ‘seven out of ten’.

Following the assault, the boy was taken to his grandparents’ house, with his father telling him on the way that he had ‘ruined his life’.

According to the teen, his father stopped on the way for a six-pack of beer and was drink driving.

Once at his grandparents’ home, the boy said his grandfather discouraged him from calling his biological mother to tell her what had happened.

The following day the teen called Von Yates who told him he wished his father hadn’t caught them, the affidavit adds.

In October, the victim’s father eventually sent an anonymous tip to police about the incident, the affidavit says.

The documents state an unknown person named ‘Kaylee’ reached out to the teen, saying his father was willing to protect him ‘if he testify’.

The teenager was informed his father didn’t want to live with his stepmother any longer.

According to the arrest report, several of the teens’ relatives tried to discourage him from disclosing to police what had happened.

Her nursing license was suspended following her arrest, Florida officials said.
