ATLANTIC CITY — The Seahaus Hotel, on the Boardwalk at Morris Avenue, celebrated its grand opening Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony along with tastes and tours of the newest hotel in the resort.
“We’re proud to be one of the only non-gaming hotels on the Boardwalk,” said Paul Joseph, general manager of the Tribute Portfolio hotel.
The boutique-style hotel has 105 rooms, a restaurant, a coffee shop and a fitness center. While the hotel is at the site of a former Days Inn, the similarity stops there. The newly renovated building was stripped “down to the studs,” said Joseph. The result is a modern-style hotel with well-appointed public areas and guest rooms, many with ocean views, all with that new-car feel.
Along with the hotel is the on-property restaurant, Cucina Del Mar, offering an Italian-inspired seafood menu with a casual vibe, signature cocktails and some amazing chef specialties, Joseph said. The menu lists handmade pastas and wood-fired seafood, uses locally sourced ingredients, and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Next to the restaurant is the hotel’s coffee shop, the CDM Bakery and Cafe, offering pastries, coffee and grab-and-go options.
The rooms vary from a single king-sized bed to those with additional sofa beds, double queen bed rooms, and almost all with an ocean view and stylishly decorated. The rates also vary, Joseph said, now that the offseason is approaching. He said weekend rates are in the $200-$250 range, with grand opening specials and specials for New Jersey and Pennsylvania residents.
