During the Minister of Health route in Shuten Order, you’ll spend a lot of time wandering down empty, maze-like hallways in pursuit of Yugen Ushitora (and, you know, not being killed in the death game). A lot of that is solving annoying puzzles in which you’re doing things like connecting colored circles and (ugh) sliding tiles. But towards the end of the route there’s a true, blue escape room, as the route’s genre suggested in the beginning. It’s a bit of a doozy, and that’s why I’ve got a guide written out for you if you need help.
This escape room is full of gadgets and gimmicks, some of which are the usual minigames you’ve seen leading up to this. We won’t waste time here on the little parts, since those are obvious enough. Solving the tougher parts here will also double as a shortcut, so if you don’t want to deal with the minigames this guide will help you regardless. That’s efficiency, baby!
First, you’ll notice flower vases with negative numbers on them. You’ll also probably examine a… robot-like creature that asks for help, then yells numbers at you. These are related, but the robot is actually kind of a distraction. The key to the numbers lies in the projector, which you’ll find a remote for after solving one of the little minigame puzzles. Or you can just keep reading. The projector shows you a bunch of nonsense, but it’s really an answer key:
This is all just a roundabout way to communicate that in this escape room, numbers are letters. Just match the numbers you see with the alphabet and you’ll get through everything. For example, the numbers at the bottom of the slide here spell out “CURE,” which you’ll need for the computer nearby to reveal the big clue for the final answer. Solving the easy stuff will have shown you shapes on various objects you can match numbers to. The flower needs you to do some quick math, but otherwise you have the numbers you need. Put that in the panel by the door to get the card you need to open the door, and you’re all done. Congrats.
