    As part of the Social Assistance Fund (CAS) Modernization Project, CAS employees attended three days of training at the Hotel Montana on procedures for psychosocial support, counseling, and assistance for vulnerable people. This training will, among other things, provide participants with better tools to better assist beneficiaries.
    Jhony Raphaël, Acting Director of CAS, who spoke at the end of the training, affirmed that this workshop has made it wise to reorganize life within the institution. He made a passionate call for unity and collaboration among all employees for a more dynamic and modern social assistance fund.
    According to Jerry Constant, the project leader and manager, the desired modernization must involve improving the quality and accessibility of CAS services. To this end, staff from all departments of the Fund were provided with psychosocial support and leadership training, as well as awareness training on the legal framework for social assistance to better support beneficiaries. “This support must be multifaceted. It is not limited to registering beneficiaries and distributing benefits,” stated Constant, who advocates a more humane approach to processing beneficiary files.
    “The support provided by the CAS can be financial, health-related, or psychosocial. It is up to the employee to identify, using the targeting tools we will provide, the type of support required for each case,” according to trainer Jean Junior Stervenson Datus.
    Other training sessions are planned as part of this project.
