Quarterback Josh Allen will look different when the Buffalo Bills play the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night. The veteran quarterback is feeling the effects of hits in the Bills’ 30-10 win over the New York Jets in Week 2.
Per Alex Brasky of Sports Illustrated, Allen said he plans to wear a visor on Thursday night to help protect his nose.
“Just trying to get used to it,” Allen said of the visor. “It doesn’t really impact much. It’s a little warmer in there… a little weirder… I wore one throughout college but not in the NFL. … A little bruised up but we’re all good.”
Allen’s numbers after the injury were noticeably down from his performance in Week 1, when he threw for 394 yards and two touchdowns in the Bills’ comeback win over the Baltimore Ravens.
Allen doesn’t have much time to get used to wearing the visor for the Thursday night game. The Bills held practice on Tuesday for the first time this week. They’ll have one more practice on Wednesday before they host Miami.
Despite wearing a visor and telling the media he’s dealing with discomfort, Buffalo did not put Allen on the Week 3 injury report on Monday. The issue appears minor and shouldn’t affect his play against the Dolphins.
